Content and copyright
Draft — under review by counsel before general availability. Last edited September 22, 2026.
People use CommunitEze to post announcements, messages, documents and photos to their community. This page says what isn't allowed, how to report something, and what we do about it.
Who's responsible
The person who posts something is responsible for it. Each association decides what belongs in its own community, and a board member with the moderation permission can remove message-board posts directly. CommunitEze LLC also removes content that breaks the rules on this page or the law.
What isn't allowed
- Anything unlawful, threatening or harassing
- False statements of fact that damage someone's reputation
- Someone else's private information posted without their consent, such as Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, or medical information
- Content that infringes someone's copyright, trademark or other rights
- Content that discriminates against people on grounds that fair housing law protects
- Spam, malware, or links meant to deceive
How to report content
Email admin@communiteze.com with "Content report" in the subject line. Tell us which community it's in, where it appears, and what's wrong with it. You can also ask your board, which can remove message-board posts itself.
What we do
- We acknowledge every report within two business days.
- We review the content against this page, our terms and the law.
- If it breaks them, we remove it from view. Removed content is kept in the community's record, out of sight, where the law or a legal dispute may require it. It isn't shown to anyone.
- We tell the person who reported it, and the person who posted it, what we decided, unless the law or safety prevents it.
- The person who posted it can ask us to reconsider by replying with their reasons. We decide within five business days.
- When someone repeatedly or seriously breaks these rules, we may suspend their account.
We keep a written log of every report and what we decided.
Copyright notices
If you believe content in CommunitEze infringes your copyright, send a notice to our copyright agent below. The notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- A description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed
- Where the material appears in CommunitEze, in enough detail for us to find it
- Your name, address, phone number and email address
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner
When we receive a complete notice, we remove the material from view and tell the person who posted it.
Counter-notices
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to our copyright agent. It must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- A description of the material that was removed and where it appeared
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you're outside the United States, any district where CommunitEze LLC may be found), and that you'll accept service from the person who sent the original notice
We forward the counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. If they don't tell us within 10 business days that they've filed a court action, we restore the material within 10 to 14 business days after we received the counter-notice.
Repeat infringers
We end the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe others' copyrights.
